Celebrate San Antonio is the biggest new years eve party in town, combining live music and entertainment with a spectacular midnight fireworks display. Nothing has been announced so far for this year, so please do keep checking.
They've had a couple of extra special years of celebrations here in and around the city's tricentennial celebrations, but just because they're now over doesn't mean there still won't be some great parties and entertainment to help you welcome the new year 2022.
All across the whole town there will be the usual great range of NYE parties and events in the city's many top hotels, bars and restaurants, with fine dining, music and dancing all in plentiful supply - see below for some of the top choices for this year.
Throughout November and December you can also enjoy the festivities at Six Flags Holiday in the Park, there's a nightly tree lighting, Santa Claus, fairground rides and lots of holiday tasty treats. More details here.
Celebrate San Antonio
(Nothing as yet has been announced for 2021/22, please keep checking) Celebrate San Antonio normally gets the new year off to a great start with a free, family friendly public party that provides food, drink and entertainment throughout the evening, leading up the spectacular midnight fireworks display, launched from the city's iconic landmark Tower of the Americas.
The event is focused on the city's central HemisFair district and encapsulating the surrounding area, including the iconic Riverwalk, the public park that runs through the centre of town and includes a plethora of bars, restaurants hotels and many other attractions, and is also the site for some spectacular Christmas lights.
We'll have the full lineup of entertainers for this year's event as soon as it's announced.
There will also typically be a Celebrate Family Zone on Villita Street featuring games and activities for all the family, free, family friendly entertainment in the Arneson River Theater and the Yanaguana Garden in Hemisfair will remain open throughout the evening.
Tower of the Americas New Years Eve
As well as being the normal launch site of the new year firewroks show, the Tower of the Americas also features it's own observation deck and the Chart House Restuarant, offering fine dining with fabulous city views, making this a great venue to see in the new year.

The Alamo Bowl
College football is always a huge part of the holiday celebrations and this year in San Antonio we again have the big game in the Alamo Bowl - to be held on 29th December, participating teams to follow.
Kids Countdown
For families with younger children who want them to be involved in the new years eve celebrations without being out too late, there is a Kids Countdown event at the DoSeum, featuring entertainment, a scavenger hint and a ballon drop at noon.
Although this has yet to be announced for this year, should the event go ahead, it is likely to sell out, so get your tickets online here.

With many of the hotels hosting spectacular new years eve parties, the event at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk always stands out as one of the best.
There are a variety of new year packages available, with options including luxury accommodation, buffet dinner in the fabulous Verona Ballroom, and of course the new year party, with entertainemtn, dance floor, live DJ and champagne toast at midnight.

The hotels in the Riverwalk area all hold their own new years eve parties so represent a good chance to sort out your accommodation and evening's entertainment all in one go - as well as those venues already mentioned above, look out in particular for the gala events at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel, and Hotel Contessa.
